He began boxing at six years old and boxed in over xxx amateur matches until he was xx years old winning state Golden and Silver Gloves titles in Illinois and Iowa respectively. He boxed professionally for xx years appearing in bouts on Pay Per View, HBO and Telemundo. Rich coaches boxers daily and manages the day to day operations including marketing, fundraising, board governance, and finance.
After retiring, he began personal training, coaching and mentoring youth and young adults. Richard Lox started training boxers in his Frisco, TX garage as a hobby in 2013. He later moved to LIttle Elm in 2015 and picked up training again after his fourth son was born in 2016. He felt called to serve and began to build Legacy Boxing Gym from the ground up, receiving a 501 (c)(3) designation in 2017 while still training in his garage. He prayerfully waited for God to present a location and that came in late 2017 through the securing of a lease at 525 Hundley Drive in Lake Dallas, TX. Since opening the doors, he has mentored hundreds of boxers and families in and out of the ring, provided countless hours of personal and small group training, helped connect struggling families to resources from food banks to medical care, offered multiple women's self-defense classes in conjunction with the Lake Dallas Police Department, and sponsored literacy programs in our schools and local library. He is tirelessly and firecely dedicated to the community he serves.
